Education Systems Compared
Serbia and Germany both follow the Bologna Process, using the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), a three-cycle degree structure, and diploma supplements. Malaysia follows its own national framework while hosting foreign branch campuses, so your degree stays internationally readable in all three.
Serbia
Bologna Process member since 2003. ECTS credits, three-cycle degrees, and accredited institutions across Belgrade, Novi Sad, and Niš.
Germany
Bologna Process member with tuition-free public universities. Strong research output, ECTS credits, and winter and summer semester intakes.
Malaysia
Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF), plus branch campuses of UK and Australian universities awarding their home-country degrees.
Three-Cycle Study System
Bachelor Studies
Entry requires completed secondary education. An entrance exam applies in Serbia, and a recognized qualification in Germany and Malaysia.
Master Studies
Requires a Bachelor degree. Germany offers the widest choice of English-taught master programs of the three.
Doctoral Studies
Requires a completed Master degree. Germany additionally offers funded and structured PhD positions.
Integrated Studies
For Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine. Combined Bachelor and Master programs.
ECTS credits apply in Serbia and Germany. Malaysian programs use MQF credit hours, which convert to comparable durations.

Language Requirements
You can complete a full degree in English in all three countries. Serbian, German, and Malay are the national languages of instruction, but over 1,000 English-taught programmes are available across the three at every study level.
Studying in English

Local Language Options
Serbian and German courses are available online or on arrival. German at B2 level opens tuition-free local-language programs and part-time work.
Academic Requirements
Bachelor Programs
Completed secondary education in all three. Serbia adds an entrance exam, Germany may require a Studienkolleg year if your qualification is not equivalent, and Malaysia accepts A-Levels, STPM, or a foundation year.
Master Programs
A Bachelor diploma with 180-240 ECTS or the local equivalent. Germany asks for a subject-relevant degree, and students from some countries also need an APS certificate.
Doctoral Studies
A completed Master program, typically with at least 300 ECTS. In Germany you usually need a supervising professor to accept you before you can apply.
Credits & Recognition
A full-time year is 60 ECTS in Serbia and Germany. Serbian academic years run October to June, German years split into winter and summer semesters, and Malaysian campuses offer several intakes a year.
Graduates in Serbia and Germany receive a Diploma Supplement describing the knowledge and skills acquired. Malaysian qualifications are listed on the MQF register, and branch campus degrees are issued by the parent university, making all three easily understood by employers worldwide.
